American Humanics® Receives Grant From The W.K. Kellogg Foundation to Assist Its New Leadership in Examining the Organization's Core Values and Path Forward
Kansas City, MO –June 16, 2010 – American Humanics today announced that it has received a six-month grant from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation for $25,000 to assist its new leadership in examining the fundamental values of its organization by conducting internal and external research of its operation. This is one of several grants American Humanics has received since 1993 from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, including a $5 million grant from the Foundation in 2007 to fund its unique Next Generation Nonprofit Leaders Program for a five-year period.
“American Humanics is a leader in supporting nonprofit management education,” said Alandra Washington, deputy director with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. “Their work is essential to increase the pipeline of strong diverse leaders and networks who are tackling the most pressing problems facing our communities in order to improve the lives of vulnerable children and families.
“My goals are to build on the solid foundation left by my predecessor while at the same time creating value-added program opportunities for our students, workforce partners and affiliates,” stated R. Wayne Branch, Ph.D., President of American Humanics. “For more than 60 years, American Humanics has provided work-ready talent for the nonprofit sector. We are the only national nonprofit organization that brings together nonprofit organizations, colleges and universities for the purpose of credentialing future managers and leaders,” Dr. Branch added.
