American Humanics Receives Second Consecutive Four-Star Rating from Charity Navigator for its Fiscal Performance
Kansas City, MO, February 1, 2010: American Humanics is pleased to announce that it has received Charity Navigator’s highest star rating for the second year in a row. This month, Charity Navigator, America’s premier independent charity evaluator, awarded American Humanics it’s coveted four out of a possible four stars for consistently executing its mission in a fiscally responsible way by effectively managing and growing its finances during 2008. Four-star ratings given by Charity Navigator signify that an organization exceeds industry standards and that it outperforms most charities in its category. American Humanics is one of only 20 percent of charities rated by Charity Navigator to receive at least two consecutive 4-star evaluations
“This ‘exceptional’ designation from our organization truly differentiates American Humanics from its peers and demonstrates to the public that the organization is worthy of their trust,” stated Ken Berger, President and Chief Executive Officer of Charity Navigator. “As the nonprofit sector continues to grow at an unprecedented pace, savvy donors are demanding more accountability, transparency and quantifiable results from the charities they chose to support with their hard-earned dollars.”
“It’s very gratifying to receive this prestigious award once again, commented R. Wayne Branch, PhD, President of American Humanics. “As the only national nonprofit organization that brings together other nonprofits, colleges and universities for the purpose of credentialing our nation’s future nonprofit leaders, we believe we have an immense responsibility to the supporters who fund us. We need to continuously look for ways to maximize their funding dollars, particularly in this competitive philanthropic marketplace.”
Charity Navigator helps charitable givers make intelligent giving decisions by providing in-depth, objective ratings and analysis of the financial health of America’s largest charities. Their ratings show givers how efficiently the charity will use their support today and to what extent the charities are growing their programs and services over time. It’s estimated that last year alone, Charity Navigator influenced over $10 billion in charitable gifts
