American Humanics (AH) and Western Kentucky University Research Foundation are proud to introduce the Journal of Nonprofit Education and Leadership, a peer-reviewed journal that focuses on nonprofit education and leadership.
This collaborative effort between the AH national alliance and the Western Kentucky University Research Foundation will serve to improve research and practice and reduce the disparity between the two in the represented disciplines. Published contributions will appeal to a wide audience including nonprofit professionals, faculty, students, policy makers, and others involved in nonprofit education and leadership.
The Journal of Nonprofit Education and Leadership will provide a forum for authors interested in nonprofit education and nonprofit leadership to exchange information via quality, peer-reviewed articles. The journal seeks quantitative and/or qualitative research findings; conceptual or theoretical discussions; or program best practices. Anyone may submit an original article to be considered for publication, provided she or he owns the copyright to the work being submitted or is authorized by the copyright owner or owners to submit the article.
Relevant topic areas include nonprofit governance, fundraising, volunteer management, operations, legal framework, philanthropy, program planning, implementation and evaluation, and financial management. The general guiding philosophy for the journal is to incorporate the research talents of those working in academia with the practical talents of nonprofit professionals. “While those in academia are accustomed to submitting articles for publication, most nonprofit practitioners are not,” said Norman A. Dolch, Ph.D., who was selected and hired in September as the journal’s first Editor-in-Chief. “But each group has important information to share with each other and the profession. This new journal will allow field practitioners to share best practices through a formal peer-reviewed format.”
The Journal of Nonprofit Education and Leadership will initially publish two online issues per year. Additional information can be found at the journal’s web site: www.jnel.net
