AmeriCorps NCCC
American Humanics and AmeriCorps have worked together for nearly 3 years, primarily by placing AH certified students in AmeriCorps programs.

Now, AmeriCorps NCCC, in a new partnership with American Humanics, provides NCCC members the opportunity to earn AH certification.

How do AH and AmeriCorps NCCC work together?
To be certified from American Humanics, students must meet 17 core competencies, conduct a minimum 300-hour internship, and attend one AH Management/Leadership Institute (AHMI).

Americorps NCCC members spend much of their ten-month term of service working with nonprofit organizations across the country.  As illustrated by the "Certification Collaborative Guidelines " table below, this member experience is closely linked to the AH internship and certification requirements.  As such, NCCC members have already met most of the requirements for certification from American Humanics.

In fact, NCCC members who have successfully completed their AmeriCorps term of service and earned a Bachelor's degree have only to meet two AH competencies (Historical and Philosophical Foundations, and Fundraising Principles and Practices), plus attend an AHMI to become certified.  (The AmeriCorps term of service meets the internship requirement.)

Undergraduate vs. Graduate Options

NCCC alum can apply for either the American Humanics Undergraduate Certificate or the American Humanics Graduate Certificate

Undergraduate implies that the student has not completed their undergraduate degree.

Graduate implies that the student has completed their undergraduate degree. However, the student does not have to be pursuing their Master's in order to apply for this degree.
