September 25-26 - National Human Services Assembly Leadership Summit (Washington, DC) The National Human Services Assembly is an association of the nation’s leading national nonprofits in the fields of health, human and community development, and human services.Many of the member organizations are national offices of large networks of local health & human service organizations. Others are national research or resource organizations or national programs.
Hosted by the University of Connecticut, the program is structured to prepare emerging leaders who are ready to take on higher levels of managerial and leadership responsibilities, and be catalysts for change, within their organizations and the nonprofit sector. A typical leader/participant may already be a program manager or moving to an assistant director position, whether part-time or full.
October 18, 2008 – Nonprofit Boot Camp, Craigslist Foundation (San Francisco, CA)
On Saturday, October 18, 2008 Craigslist Foundation will produce its fifth annual San Francisco Bay Area Nonprofit Boot Camp, sponsored by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and Zazzle. Boot Camp is a unique community effort planned, produced, and promoted in partnership with over 100 local organizations. Its focus is simple— to educate, empower, and connect the next generation of nonprofit leaders and social entrepreneurs.
November 9 – Nonprofit Sector Workforce Coalition National Member Meeting (Philadelphia, PA) This meeting will be the third national meeting of Coalition members, and will again be held in conjunction with the Independent Sector Conference.

November 9-13 – YMCA National Diversity & Inclusion Conference (Louisville, KY)
November 20-22 – Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action(Philadelphia, PA) Each year, ARNOVA holds an annual conference which brings together researchers, scholars, and practitioners from around the world to present and discuss papers related to issues in nonprofit studies, voluntary action, and philanthropy. This cutting-edge research presented at the conference helps build the body of knowledge about the sector and inform those working in the nonprofit sector. February 23-25 – Child Welfare League of America Conference (Washington, DC) CWLA is an association of nearly 800 public and private nonprofit agencies that assist more than 3.5 million abused and neglected children and their families each year with a range of services.
March 10-12 –2009 Learning for Life Conference (San Diego, CA) The purpose of our national conference is to help Learning for Life participating organizations, volunteers, and our executives learn more about models and concrete examples of quality programs. Experts in character education and workforce development will be on hand to share the latest information and trends.
The annual conference of the National Association of Colleges and Employers will be held in 2009 in Las Vegas, NV.
