Nonprofit Leadership Alliance
National Certification in Nonprofit Management and Leadership

The Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Certificate represents the achievement of national academic and experiential standards that are endorsed by Nonprofit Leadership Alliance National Workforce Affiliates. The Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Certificate is granted upon the verification of an affiliated college or university that a student has demonstrated attainment of essential nonprofit competencies, practical experience in nonprofit organizations, and leadership in student organizations. The CNP (Certified Nonprofit Professional) designation is authorized for all certified alumni of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance.

Meeting Certification Requirements On-Campus

1. Nonprofit Competencies: identified and validated by the nonprofit sector, the compentecies outline the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to lead and manage a nonprofit organization. On-campus, the competencies are met through courses, workshops, and internship experiences.

2. Internship Experience: 300 hour internship supervised by an Campus Director

3. Leadership and Service Activities: demonstrated community leadership skills in diverse situations, including activities through the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Student Association at your campus

4. Management/Leadership Institute (AHMI) Attendance: visit www.humanics.org/ahmi for more info about the Institute

5. Baccalaureate Degree: students completing their bachelors degree can certify upon graduation, and post-bac students have already met this requirement

Getting Started

Contact the Campus Director at your campus to get enrolled in the designated coursework.

Create a profile online at www.humanics.org and update your Certification Transcript

Finalizing your Certification

Keep your Certification Transcript updated (by logging in at www.humanics.org), and when you finish the certification requirements, review your Certification Transcript and request verification from your Campus Director. Upon approval, it will be reviewed by the National Office and the certificate will be issued to your college/university.
