Requirements to Receive American Humanics Certification
Completion of nonprofit competency requirements serving as a framework for university curriculum and selected seminar work meeting the needs of the nonprofit sector. Competency areas of study include: Introduction to the Nonprofit Sector, Ethics, Youth Development/Mentoring, Volunteer Management/Board Development, Fundraising and Resource Development, Finance, Management, and Marketing, and Technology.
300 or more hours of internships (roughly translates into one, 6 month internship)
Meaningful engagement in leadership and community service activities
Completion of a baccalaureate degree
Attendance of at least one annual American Humanics Management Institute
Students are recruited from all academic departments
