Requirements to Receive American Humanics Certification

  • Completion of nonprofit competency requirements serving as a framework for university curriculum and selected seminar work meeting the needs of the nonprofit sector.  Competency areas of study include:  Introduction to the Nonprofit Sector, Ethics, Youth Development/Mentoring, Volunteer Management/Board Development, Fundraising and Resource Development, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Technology.
  • 300 or more hours of internships (roughly translates into one, 6 month internship)

  • Meaningful engagement in leadership and community service activities

  • Completion of a baccalaureate degree

  • Attendance of at least one annual American Humanics Management Institute

Students are recruited from all academic departments
