American Humanics National Certification in
Nonprofit Management and Leadership

The American Humanics Certificate represents the achievement of national academic and experiential standards that are endorsed by American Humanics’ National Nonprofit Partners. The American Humanics Certificate is granted upon the verification of an AH-affiliated college or university that a student has demonstrated attainment of essential nonprofit competencies, practical experience in nonprofit organizations, and leadership in student organizations.

To receive AH certification, you must:

    • Complete seventeen nonprofit competencies that provide thorough preparation for careers in the nonprofit sector

    • Complete 300 or more hours of internships (roughly translates into one, 6 month internship)

    • Engage in meaningful leadership and community service activities

    • Complete a baccalaureate degree from any academic department

    • Attend at least one annual American Humanics Management Institute

I tell everyone I meet about American Humanics.
One of the things I love is that it gives college students
both a job opportunity and connections. It gives us a chance
to make a difference in the lives of the people we serve.
